The Roam the Streets (Pt. 1) (R)

The camera shakes violently as the man who operates it runs. He is running towards a Seven Eleven convenience store, in which he thinks lies safety. Behind him is a horde of Walkers, hungry for flesh of any kind, but specifically his. This, is the camera’s story.

“Hurry! We need time to close the metal shutters!” yelled Darius, the cameraman.
There was no response from the other three, but the message was received because they began running even faster. The relentless moans of the Walkers followed them.
The ragtag group reached the convenience store just as a car sped through the group of Walkers, killing three of them and maiming four others. Despite their brutal injuries, the repulsing things continued to crawl.
The car swerved, tried to turn back onto the road, but flipped. It rolled about thirty yards, greatly injuring the young woman inside, before hitting a glass bus-stop. The car was completely destroyed. It was only a hunk of metal now, with the young lady trapped inside. The majority of the Walkers followed it, but several continued on their way to the store.
“That was good timing. C’mon, let’s get inside.” said Ann, one of the survivors.
The camera stops shaking when Darius reaches the door. He helps kick it down, and then rushes inside.
“Alright, Ann, Darius, get all the supplies you can. Mitch, you help me close these shutters.” barks Joseph, the groups self appointed leader.
Ann and Darius run the back of the shop to start getting what they need. Darius sets down the camera.
“Alright, grab water, Red Bull, and Jack Daniels. I’ll get chili and soups and chips.” said Darius.
“Gotcha.” replies Ann.
Back at the front of the shop, Joseph and Mitch struggle with the metal shutters, as the small group of Walkers draws closer.
“Pull harder man. Hurry, they're almost here.” cried Mitch.
“Shit, stop pulling. Stop fuckin pulling!” yelled Joseph.
The shutters had broken. They were never going to come down. The Walkers were upon them, banging their bloody fists on the glass, cracking it.
“Guys, hurry up and fill those bags. Shutters didn’t work out. They’ll be in in a matter of minutes.” said Joseph, scared and disappointed.
“Shit. We don’t even have a weapon. What are we supposed to do now?” whines Darius.
“We fight. Get glass bottles and bash them on the head. Get them all inside and douse the place in gasoline and torch em’.” said Joseph, looking quite proud of his plan.
“Alright then. Use the big wine bottles. They do the most damage.” said Mitch.
The camera is set down, and darius is seen running to the wine section. The Walkers were climbing over the glass, stumbling into the store.
“Hurry up! Mitch, you got the gas?” asked a very worried Joseph.
“Got it.” he yelled back.
Darius walked up to the front of the shop where two Walkers were stumbling after Joseph. In each hand he carried a massive bottle of wine. He reared back, and swung at the first Walker.
The bottle shattered over the thing’s head, caving in the skull. The second Walker moaned, turned around and lunged at Darius, forcing him to back into th window. The Walkers breaking in grabbed at him and bit him in the neck and the head.
“AAAAARRRRGHHHHHHHH!!!” cried Darius. He swung the bottle behind him, trying to dislodge himself from the Walkers grasp. Blood poured from his wounds. The Walkers tore the skin from the back of his head, exposing the bone.
“DARIUS! I’m comin’ man!!!” yelled Mitch, racing towards the window. He ran up and smacked the Walker who was on the inside with the gas can, knocking it down. He then grabbed Darius by the collar and ripped him (literally) from the Walkers grasp.
Darius slumped over Mitch’s shoulder, unconscious. The Walker on the floor was struggling to it’s feet, moaning all the while.
Walker’s continued to pour in from the windows. There were now about five inside. Mitch did his best to carry Darius towards the back of the shop. Ann came up behind the group of Walkers and smashed a bottle over one of their heads, killing it. The bottle was now a makeshift knife, which she used to stab two of the Walkers in the back of the head before it broke.
“C’mon, Mitch leave him he won’t make a block. Torch the place!” yelled Joseph from the back door.
Mitch dropped Darius to the floor, and opened the gas can. He doused Darius, the first three Walkers in front of him, and then dropped the can and ran.
“Ann, take a Zippo and toss it onto Darius!” he yelled as he ran away.
Ann took a Zippo, lit it, and tossed it. It landed spot on, and the Walkers went up in flames. Ann then filled the rest of her bag with cigarettes and cigars, grabbed a few lighters and ran out the back door.
